As through a large lens or through a round window shines here the flame of the small tea light. The facet cut cuts the optical image several times and thus allows the flame to shine more often.
The inner arcs of the facets are usually not perfect fit worked. This can not be better cut out and grinded in the manufacturing process, which is determined by manual work. However, the small irregularities are not disturbing for the overall impression.
